Darbak ("we", "us", "our") operates the Darbak mobile applications and website (the "Service"), connecting customers, stores/vendors, and delivery partners. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have, including how to delete your account and data.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, phone number, password, and profile photo.

Location information: precise or approximate device location, used to show nearby stores, calculate delivery routes, and track order/delivery status in real time.

Order and payment information: order history, delivery addresses, and payment details processed via our payment partners. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Identity and verification documents: for vendors and delivery partners, we collect business/identity documents (e.g. ID proof, vehicle documents) required to verify and operate an account.

Communications: messages exchanged through in-app chat between customers, vendors, and delivery partners, and any messages you send us directly.

Device and usage information: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and crash/diagnostic logs, used to keep the Service reliable and secure.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and provide the Service (ordering, delivery, payments).
• To match customers with nearby stores and delivery partners and track deliveries in real time.
• To process payments and prevent fraud.
• To send order updates, service notifications, and (with your consent) promotional messages.
• To respond to support requests and enforce our terms.
• To improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as needed to operate the Service:

• With other users: a customer's name, delivery address, and order details are shared with the relevant store and delivery partner to fulfil an order; a delivery partner's name, photo, and live location are shared with the customer during an active delivery.
• Payment processors, to complete transactions.
• Cloud storage and infrastructure providers (e.g. Amazon Web Services), to securely store uploaded photos, documents, and app data.
• Mapping and notification services (e.g. Google Maps, push notification providers), to provide navigation and alerts.
• Law enforcement or regulators, when required by law.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Transaction records required for accounting, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes are retained for the period required by applicable law, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

5. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You can review and update your profile information at any time from within the app. You may request permanent deletion of your account and associated data at any time:

• In-app, from your account settings ("Delete Account"); or
• By submitting a request at https://darbak.xyz/account-delete

Once verified, we permanently delete your profile, saved addresses, order/ride history, uploaded documents and photos, and linked payment details, except for records we are legally required to retain as described in Section 4, which are deleted once that retention period ends.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access-controlled cloud storage, to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and we will update the "Last updated" date above.
